Spiritual Formation
Catholicism is central to our mission. We teach theology out of the Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and papal documents.
Student Life
Inspired by Pope Saint John Paul the Great, we take as our motto Cultura Vitae, the culture of life. Our goal is for students to accept our Lord’s offer to have life and have it abundantly. We provide many opportunities to deepen their life, including retreats, pilgrimages, sports, clubs, and other activities.
Classical Curriculum
The Chesterton Academy model begins with a classical, integrated curriculum. Students read St. Thomas Aquinas, Homer, Plato, Aristotle, Euclid, Virgil... and G.K. Chesterton.
Pilgrimage to Rome

Humanities
History, literature, philosophy, theology, and languages are braided together in an integrated curriculum utilizing the Socratic Method.

The Chesterton Education

An Incarnational Environment

From history and theology to math and science, the mystery of the Incarnation is at the heart of our curriculum, inviting students to encounter Christ in every subject.

A Focus on Truth, Goodness, and Beauty

Our classical curriculum combines a broad, liberal arts education with a strong emphasis on the development of Christian virtues and an appreciation of beauty.

A Joyful Learning Environment

We create environments where students experience the delight of learning in community and an opportunity to live out their faith in an atmosphere of Christian joy.

Rediscovering the Lost Tools of Learning

Our curriculum is centered on skills seemingly forgotten in our modern society: reading, writing, oral presentations, and the development of critical reasoning skills through logic and philosophy.

The Socratic Seminar

The Socratic seminar is perhaps the oldest educational tool. Through this method, our teachers impart knowledge through directed questions and guided dialogue, bringing ideas and knowledge to life.

The Wit and Wisdom of G.K. Chesterton

Chesterton exemplified the Catholic faith through his wit, his clarity, his kindness, and his ability to love people with whom he disagreed, sharing the faith in Christian charity—virtues we aim to cultivate in each student.

Raising Up A New Generation of Joyful Catholic Leaders

Students at Chesterton Academy enjoy a cohesive, content-rich education. Our scholars benefit from a broad exposure to many different disciplines, which helps expand their interest and their ability to think critically. The four-year, integrated core curriculum takes students from the ancient world to the modern world. All students are required to take four years of math and science. Four years of the fine arts are also required. Each year builds on the previous, so that by the end of senior year, our graduates are well-rounded, articulate, and clear-thinking.

Our Patron

G.K. Chesterton

The Chesterton Schools Network is named for the great English writer and Catholic convert, G.K. Chesterton (1874- 1936). Chesterton is our school’s patron because he exemplified the Catholic faith through a life filled with joy, wonder, and gratitude.

Chesterton was considered one of the world’s most outstanding men of letters in the early 20th century. An accomplished essayist, novelist, and poet, he wrote a hundred books on all different subjects. In 1922, he shocked the literary establishment by converting to Catholicism. He was later eulogized by Pope Pius XI as “a gifted defender of the faith,” and there is presently a popular movement to have him canonized. He not only represents the fullness of faith and reason, but also Catholic joy and common sense.

Why Chesterton Academy?

Spirituality

Catholic faith is at the core of our academic program, we can teach all subjects through the lens of the Church. That endeavor is what makes our school unique. Religion at Chesterton Academy is not merely one academic subject among many. The Catholic faith is interwoven into every subject within the school day.

Character

In communities of guided peer formation through the House system, students grow in the four cardinal virtues of prudence, temperance, fortitude and justice—the foundation of leadership.

Intellect

We nurture the minds and the souls of students through an integrated, classical education where faith and reason are intertwined in every course. Students will be shown how God’s Truth exists in all studies and how subjects relate to one another in holy harmony, not in contradiction or isolation.

Community

Lasting, true friendships and a sense of community. Students graduate prepared to leave an impact on our country, culture and the Church.

The House System

Each student is assigned to one of four Houses for their tenure at Chesterton. Houses organize activities and competitions centered on social and spiritual events, service, and scholarship.
